DOTP is an excellent primary plasticizer for PVC plastics. Compared to DOP, it offers better heat resistance, freeze resistance, non-volatility, corrosion resistance and flexibility. Due to its low volatility, it is suitable for producing cables that operate in low temperatures and is widely used in cables rated for 70°C (as per IEC standards) and other soft PVC products. Additionally, it can be used as a plasticizer for polyvinyl butyral, nitrile rubber, cellulose nitrate, synthetic rubber and finds applications in artificial leather, films, as well as in coatings, precision instrument lubricants, lubricant additives and paper softeners.
