DINP is a commonly used plasticizer with similar plasticizing characteristics to DOP, but it offers lower volatility and excellent cold resistance. Its low volatility not only extends the product's service life but also reduces evaporation during the processing. The cold resistance of DINP is comparable to a 60/40Wt% blend of DOP/DOA. Compared to DOP, DINP has lower plasticizing efficiency, migration rate and water extraction rate, while its gelation temperature and electrical resistivity are slightly higher. DINP provides a good balance of various properties while being cost-effective, making it a widely used general-purpose high-molecular-weight plasticizer in the PVC industry. It serves as an excellent alternative to DOP in most flexible PVC applications.
